“The appropriation and re-writing of gay and lesbian history and culture, most notably attempting to re-cast the majority gay white men who participated in the Stonewall riots as transgender”.

The ?LGBTQI? label has always bothered me with its ominous collectivist assumptions. As if, say, ?transgender? women and bisexual men have anything much in common at all. Let alone ?Queer?, with its implicit roots in woolly-headed Marxist theory. The idea that groups with such disparate expectations and life experiences must somehow be shoehorned into some kind of obedient hive mind is as sinister as Star Trek?s Borg: ?You will be assimilated; resistance is futile?.

The rainbow flag has become a suffocating gag as oppressive as the black, full-body tents of Islam.

Some spectra of the rainbow are starting to kick back. Quote:

We are a group of gay/bisexual men and women who have come to the conclusion that the transgender community needs to be disassociated from the larger LGB community; in essence, we ask that organizations?stop representing the transgender community as we feel their ideology is not only completely different from that promoted by the LGB community (LGB is about sexual orientation, trans is about gender identity), but is ultimately regressive and actually hostile to the goals of women and gay men. Right now, the ?Drop the T? movement is small and beleaguered. Women in particular are leading the backlash against transgenderism, as the spread of ?transgender? legislation such as Tasmania?s reveals the threat that such ideas as ?self-identification? pose to actual women.

Ever the heretic, Milo Yiannopoulos weighs in: Quote:

Feminists are getting braver about explaining how the transgender lobby is riding roughshod over women?s rights and how it is damaging young children. It?s time gay men stood up to the plate as well?

Very often those playing the trans card in the media, whether personally transgender or not, are very often the most awful people on the planet: hectoring, nannying control freaks without an ounce of joy in their hearts. These are not the people I want making public policy or pontificating from the pages of national newspapers and they?re hardly doing their own ?trans isn?t a mental illness? argument much credit by acting so damn bonkers all the time. End of quote.

The ?Drop the T? organisers agree. Quote:

There are several areas in which the ideology of the trans community is at odds with or actively hostile to that of women and gay men?The vilification and harassment of women and gay/lesbian individuals who openly express disagreement with the trans ideology? The harassment by the transgender community of prominent individuals ranging from iconic gay rights activist/drag queen RuPaul and legendary feminist Germaine Greer has been particularly loathsome.

The infringement of the rights of individuals, particularly women, to perform normal everyday activities in traditional safe spaces based on sex; this is most pernicious in the case of men claiming to be transgender demanding access to bathrooms, locker rooms, women?s shelters and other such spaces reserved for women. End of quote.

More than a few are noticing that ?trans? ideology threatens the very existence of the gay and lesbian communities. Former ?gender identity? clinicians worry that confused young homosexuals are being misdiagnosed as ?transgender?: there was a dark joke among staff that ?there would be no gay people left?.

Some transsexuals point out that ?transgender? is not the same as transsexual or transvestite. The transgender lobby responds with bullying lawsuits. Quote:

The appropriation and re-writing of gay and lesbian history and culture, most notably attempting to re-cast the majority gay white men who participated in the Stonewall riots as transgender, specifically casting as ?transgender? men who adopted feminine attire but still identified as men (they called themselves transvestites)?media outlets such as The Advocate, Out and Huff Post Gay Voices, who should have been the first to point out the fallacy of this notion, actually went along with the lie. End of quote.

It goes without saying that gays fighting back to reclaim their community are being slapped with the dreaded ?phobia? slur. Quote:

Please note that we are not advocating intolerance or prejudice against the transgender community?[but] In the end, we feel that the transgender ideology is not compatible with the rights of women, gay men and children. End of quote.

In many ways, this is a rod of the gay community?s own making. As always happens, the revolution is eating its own. Sure, conservatives are too often stuffy and no fun, but, too late, gays and feminists are learning that when conservatives urge society to stop and think for a moment there?s sometimes good reason.
